Electric hoist is a small, light-weight lifting equipment, which is widely used and easy to use. Electric hoists can be divided into wire rope electric hoists and chain electric hoists. Are the wire ropes used in wire rope electric hoists the same? Actually, not really. There are many types of wire ropes and different choices. The type and length of the wire rope are determined by the height that the customer needs to lift and the way the wire rope is wound.

1. Phosphate coated steel wire rope, the steel wire is phosphated with manganese and zinc-manganese, the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the steel wire surface are greatly improved, the fatigue life of the steel wire rope is also greatly improved, the unit use cost is lower, and the quality stability is better.
2. Galvanized steel wire rope, including hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing. Generally, hot-dip galvanizing has a thicker zinc layer, while electro-galvanizing has a thinner zinc layer.
3. Stainless steel wire rope, mainly 304 or 316 stainless steel, has good anti-corrosion effect but is expensive.
4. Plastic-coated steel wire rope, based on carbon steel wire rope, with an outer layer coated with polyethylene, polypropylene or nylon.

Different steel wire ropes are used in different occasions. Marine engineering steel wire ropes are preferred in seawater; manganese-phosphating coated steel wire ropes are preferred for hoisting machinery used in atmospheric environment; hot-dip galvanized-phosphating double-coated steel wire ropes are preferred for heavy corrosion environment. No matter which type of steel wire rope is purchased, it is important to purchase it from a regular manufacturer to ensure good quality and avoid safety accidents caused by inferior products.
